If you are hankering after something a little zingy that you can whip up with minimum fuss this is the recipe for you. Being full of garlic, chilli and ginger it’s also great if you are suffering from the dreaded winter cold!

Ingredients – Serves 2

  • To make the porky balls
  • 2 Jolly Hog Proper Porker sausages
  • 2cm of ginger
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 red chilli
  • 1 cap full of sesame seed oil
  • 1 cap full of soy sauce

To make the broth

 

  • 1 pack of Miso paste
  • 2 shitaki mushrooms
  • 1 nest of noodles
  • 1 red chilli
  • 1 stick of lemon grass
  • 2 Spring onions
  • 6 Pac choi leaves
  • 1 ltr of boiling water

Method

1.     Dice the ginger, garlic and chilli and pop into a bowl

2.     Squeeze the sausage meat from the Jolly Hog Proper Porkers into the same bowl

3.     Add the caps of sesame seed oil and soy sauce

4.     Mix and make approx. 8-10 mini porky balls

5.     Place in a frying pan over a medium heat and fry until golden on the outside and cooked through, approx. 5-10 minutes

6.     Whilst the porky balls are cooking boil a kettle and using 1 ltr of boiling water make up the miso soup

7.     Slice up the mushrooms, chilli, spring onions and lemon grass

8.     Place the nest of noodles in boiling water to soften

9.     Once the porky balls are cooked it’s time to plate it all up, place the noodles in a large bowl and pour over the miso soup then add all the ingredients on top and finish with a splash of soy sauce
